Join the largest youth-led environmental event!
Global Youth Environment Assembly is the official youth forum toward the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN Environment Assembly (UNEA). The first YEA of 2021 will take place on 12, 13 and 18, 19, 20 February in lead the up to UNEA 5.1.
The Assembly will comprise sessions on variety of environmental topics, interactive segments, regional and thematic breakouts, dedicated plenary sessions and a high-level segments featuring dialogues between environment ministers and youth.

In this session, the forma youth engagement platform for the chemicals and waste in the UN system will be launched jointly with SAICM and BRS conventions. The launch will also feature a panel discussion on how the United Nations and Youth can work together, particularly in multilateral space, to adress chemicals and waste.

Launch of the GEO - 6 for Youth
This session will mark the official launch of the Global Environmental Outlook 6 for Youth (GEO-6 for Youth). GEO-6 for Youth is UNEP’s first full e-publication and provides engaging content to inform, engage and lead to youth action. The authors of the report, alongside Ms. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP, will discuss the three main areas of: (1)Communicating science to the Youth (2) Sustainable actions/activism (3) Green jobs of the future and the skills to access these opportunities.

Sustainability and Human Rights: Looking beyond Environmental and Climate Change Law!

We are increasingly noticing the drawbacks of environmental and climate change law when it comes to protecting the environment. Hence, the organizations have researched and developed a free MOOC for people highlighting how commercial and economic law contribute to sustainability and help prevent climate change. In the end, we would have a youth roundtable discussing if this is the right approach to go about it, releasing a position paper. You would have it all from discussions on environmental law to corporations to youth participation!
