About the forum

The Latin America and Caribbean Youth Environment Forum (LACYEF) is the flagship regional consultation for young people in LAC. It provides a platform for youth to discuss pressing environmental challenges facing the region — from Amazon deforestation to climate justice — and develop collective positions for global environmental governance.

LACYEF has convened multiple editions, each strengthening the capacity of young people to engage in environmental multilateralism. The forum connects grassroots youth organisations with regional and global processes, ensuring that Latin American and Caribbean youth perspectives are represented at the highest levels.

Through thematic workshops, resolution consultations, and intergenerational dialogue, LACYEF participants develop joint statements and recommendations that carry the priorities of LAC youth into UNEA and other global governance spaces.
