About the conference
Unpacking the environmental dimensions of AMR
Organized by the Children and Youth Major Group (CYMG) with support from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), CEDAR is a two-day virtual gathering to unpack the environmental dimensions of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), build the capacity of youth, and explore practical pathways for advancing youth-led action on the environmental dimensions.
CEDAR will pave the way for a longer-term process to engage young people in supporting the implementation of UNEA Resolution 7/11: Environmental dimensions of antimicrobial resistance — through awareness raising, dialogue, partnerships, and practical action.
The conference brings together youth, governments, researchers, industry, and civil society to move from awareness to action, and lays the foundation for continued UNEP–CYMG collaboration on environmental AMR in 2027.

How it works
Two days, two formats
Day 1 is an open, interactive webinar welcoming anyone interested in joining. Day 2 is a focused youth upskilling workshop reserved for applicants who successfully pass the registration screening.

Open to all participants. Expert conversations, a youth action showcase, live polls, and a fireside conversation on what environmental action against AMR looks like in practice — and where youth can enter.

Youth upskilling workshop
A hands-on day for selected youth applicants: an advocacy masterclass, fireside lessons from environmental agreements, and parallel action labs on WAAW 2026 and UNEA Resolution 7/11 implementation.
Participation in Day 2 is limited to selected applicants who pass the screening process outlined in the registration form. Results are shared by 10 September.

Who can attend CEDAR?
Day 1 is a public interactive webinar open to everyone. Day 2 is a youth upskilling workshop limited to selected youth applicants who successfully pass the screening process outlined in the registration form.
How do I register, and is there a deadline?
Registration opens on 12 August 2026 and closes on 1 September 2026 at 23:59 UTC through the CEDAR registration form. The same form covers Day 1 registration, Day 2 applications, and Youth Action Showcase submissions.
What happens after I register?
From 2–9 September, youth projects and Day 2 applicants are reviewed and selected. During the second week of September, participants receive an email with the Day 1 meeting link, Day 2 selection results, and youth action results.
What time do the sessions run?
Both events run 12:00–16:00 UTC. Final schedule and meeting links will be shared with registered participants before the conference.
Will participants receive a certificate?
Yes — the programme includes information on the participation certificate and the evaluation form for participants at the end of each day.
